The Burden of Employment Legislation on Small businesses Small businesses are getting little or no help in coping with employment law, the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has said. A survey of 2,826 small firms revealed that 78 per cent of business owners and entrepreneurs handle employment paperwork themselves and a third do not know where to get government advice on legislation that affects small businesses. In addition, 32 per cent of those small businesses polled said that they were not recruiting new staff because of the complexity of employment law. Read more
