Employment Law for Managers
There is so much legislation covering employment law that is often difficult to keep up with latest information. However if managers are not aware it is easy for them to make mistakes which nowadays can cause huge financial burden to a business or even cause it to close down.
Aim
To enable generalist managers to stay within the employment law guidelines and provide an effective HR service without breaking the law.
Objectives
At the end of the workshop you will be able to

- Describe what is meant by reasonable actions/responses of a reasonable employer
- Prepare contracts of employment which adhere to legislation and to meet the needs of different workers
- Explain the policies covering Equal Opportunities, Discrimination &Harassment
- Adhere to company policy and procedure to protect against legal action
Case studies are used throughout to reflect live cases and generate discussion around what the group think the outcome may have been before confirming the decision and why it was reached. Notable cases may be used to ensure the principle is demonstrated.
