Trainers Presentation Skills

Aim:
The workshop will enable first time trainers and/or managers to design and deliver an effective training event.

Objectives:
At the end of this workshop you will be able to:

  • Identify how adults learn
  • Describe the differences between instructing, coaching and facilitation
  • Explain the training cycle from training needs to evaluation
  • Set learning objectives
  • Design a basic training session/event
  • Demonstrate delivery skills

Content:
The workshop will be very practical with plenty of opportunity to try out different delivery methods, handle participants’ learning needs and create a framework for a training session.
Methods will include group work, video excerpts, case discussion, questionnaires and checklists as well as practical exercises.

Choices:
Becoming a trainer requires a wide range of skills and practical experience.  This workshop addresses the important things you need to know before designing and delivering your first training event.

Training Needs Analysis and Evaluation; Training Design; Managing the Learning Environment; Communication Skills including Giving Feedback; Using Accelerated Learning Techniques; Learning Needs Interviewing.
We also run in-house four day workshops to cover Facilitation and Becoming an Assessor.

The training developed and re-shaped as the week went on according to our needs.  And it proved to be a well organised and interesting four days.  I thought (perhaps with hindsight) that this was really excellent as I struggled with it at the beginning.
