‘What Not to Write’, The Guide to the Dos and Don’ts of Good English.

I think it’s the best book out on the market at the moment for business people who want to get their English right. It is entertainingly written and yet easy to dip into and easy to find the answers to your queries. It is arranged alphabetically and coupled with cross-references and a comprehensive index.

It's pocket sized, information packed, entertaining and invaluable and that’s just what the blurb says….

Normally £8.99 + P&P we are selling it for just £7.50 +£1.50 P&P in the UK.
And we give a copy away in a lucky draw on all our business and report writing programmes

The perfect book to keep in the office drawer to bring inspiration and save embarrassment.

Love and other Distractions
By Maurice Spillane

Maurice Spillane is well known in the software industry and speaks regularly at business conferences.  In his other life he is a poet who believes there is always an opportunity for a poem to sneak its way in to the business world.  Often surprising an audience of business people who have not expected poetry to be presented, Maurice has identified there is a latent demand for poetry in our psyche.

This collection of witty, sad, sentimental and down right amusing poems has something for the lover in all of us.  And if you are left handed…there is a special poem just for you.   It makes a perfect gift for the Christmas stocking and I think it' a great little companion for reading on the train, in the office and in the privacy of your own home.

Normally retailing for £9.99 we are delighted to be able to offer it for £7.50 plus P&P £1.50.  All copies can be signed by the poet.  Please email names and details and make it a perfect Christmas gift.

The Useful Guide to Report Writing

Rated 5/5 It approaches its subject matter in a simple, but non patronising way. Ideal for those who are new to report writing. It also contains some useful reminders to those of us who are more experienced. The example report is a good illustration to follow.  Nigel Cox, Cox Consulting

When first given the “useful guide” as a hardcopy (it’s also available as a ebook) I was a bit taken aback because of its 34 pages however once I started to get into the guide I began to see the many useful tips, clear instructions and guidelines given throughout it I became an avid reader and realised that even as an experienced report writer I have a lot to learn and to unlearn.

What is a really attractive about this guide is that it breaks things down into very clear precise stages, it puts an emphasis on planning, research and being clear about what the purpose of the report is and what the report is designed to communicate as a whole to the people who will be the readers. I enjoyed very much the way in which Charlotte writes in a clearly, promoting the use of good English with a respect for the language and a respect for the reader. I particularly liked how she works her way through the guide by taking the time to try things out and to build up your own sample report along the way.

A useful guide to report writing says it's useful and it is It guides you through the process allowing you to learn and build on what is presented to you and is not only a useful guide to report writing, it is an example organising and using English in an effective way to transmit real communication to the reader and stops much of the management jargon and other bad habits that we get into So I'd thoroughly recommend “useful the guide to report writing” as it does a lot more than just be a guide, it gives you stages, examples, tips and techniques that help you both to learn and create great report.
